Spotted. R went out of fangirl retirement when she and her officemate slash new recruit J went to Ongaku Society’s Fresh Meet Japanese music gig last Novembet 17 at RJ Bar Makati. It’s been a while so R was surprised with the new acts featured in the Filipino jmusic community that she couldn’t make up her mind on how to describe it. Really. Besides, she was also worried about J having some sort of culture shock. Tsk tsk, the guy had never seen Filipino kids singing and playing japanese music before. Oh well he wanted to come anyway. I guess however the night turned out, that was just it. Can’t be helped. Bishies and kawaii girls were on low supply, too. Oh noes, bad omen.

R wanted to see her friends more than she wanted to watch the performers for the night anyhow. But wait – the performers are her friends! That’s the dilemma she’s always had when she goes to events. Left out because everyone else was on stage. Maybe this time, she won’t be left out too much. Right R? Or not.

The gig was hosted by her ever talented tasukete aite C. Kawaii as always and filled up with peppermint mocha, C got her genki on to match her kickass killer boots. R’s group for the night included her sempai C who needed the timeout more than anyone in the bunch. With R’s invitation, sweet A also went out of her cave – an absolute surprise for the night. Mama H didn’t make it though, her magic would’ve have been great help for keeping the night more interesting. Perhaps free cigs for R?

Good thing K was around table-hopping. Incidentally, it was the last gig for his band X versus Zero but R knows it wasn’t the last of his jmusic exposure. Not when it was obvious those practice sessions had improved K’s guitar skills. Btw, nice hair K. R secretly wanted your pink skull shirt

Perhaps R’s fave for the night is that song she didn’t know (and later found out that it was Yaida Hitomi‘s Over the Distance) performed by 3 Day Trial. She thought A, the vocalist who she got acquainted with before the gig started, was pretty good (thank goodness). Another one for R’s shoujou music list in Seeqpod!

A treat for R was seeing D play the drums again. It was simple drum play but as expected of D – raw talent, pure skill. But we all know D’s got more up his sleeve and we want that – more rock. Unfortunately, D and R didn’t get the chance to talk. They’ve got some stuff to discuss really. Because the truth is, R’s been a bit worried about the things she’s been hearing about him. So what’s up D?

Wahahaha that was lame shameless spilling. I’m no Gossip Girl writer, lah. This might be the first and last time I attempt this kind of writing. But you get the point right?
