Trying TweetDeck
February 28th, 2009Even though I use Plurk.com more often to check with friends (because everyone is there!), I still have and use my Twitter.com acccount. I follow quite a number of very interesting people there, mostly web people I look up to in terms of web dev stuff, design and freelancing.~ Though I don’t actually communicate with them, it’s great to be able to read and know their thoughts and ideas. (Stalker much? hahaha..)
Now, for twitter users, TweetDeck, I think is a great app to have. Their site says it all –
“TweetDeck enables users to split their main feed (All Tweets) into topic or group specific columns allowing a broader overview of tweets. The default columns can contain All Tweets from your timeline, @replies directed to you and direct messages. The GROUP, SEARCH and REPLIES buttons then allow the user to make up additional columns populated from the live tweet information. Once created these additional columns will automatically update allowing the user to keep track of a twitter threads far easier.”
I just installed it, and is really liking what I see.
All the messages I need to see are accessible and viewable. When you get a new message, the app notifies you with a message that pops-up on the top right corner of your screen and disappears after some time. No important message missed! Though I am thinking that could be annoying when a lot of messages come in one after the other. I am still trying it so, we’ll see.~~
