Today I received an email notice that Yahoo! Geocities is closing on October 26, 2009. Users will not be able to access their accounts anymore and are advised to download all their files asap.  Geocities files will be deleted from their servers and will not be recoverable. Users also have the option to transfer to Yahoo! Web hosting for $4.99 a month for a full year. (That is, $4.99 for your first 12 months then $9.95/month after)
