Things I Miss in Being Self-employed
August 1st, 2009Most of you already knew that I recently went back to the 9-to-5 work force. In my case, 9-to-screwyouclockout. So how’s it going so far? I’ve been needing a lot of adjustments actually, for quite a number of reasons.
Anyhow, I made a list of things I really miss from working as a freelancer (in random order):
1. Waking up / sleeping at any hour.
2. Not worrying what I’ll wear.
3. Not having to buy expensive food.
4. No traffic and commute.
5. Plurk and Twitter, visiting friends’ blogs
6. FANGIRLING ANYTIME.
7. Keyhole TV and the Japanese Channels
8. Torrents and my lovely downloads on work breaks.
9. Having a say on what project to work on and how to do them.
10. Web Articles. I still can’t feel comfortable / relaxed enough to just read them in the office.
11. My Livejournal communities and forums updates
12. Kidnapping Chelli.
13. Lying down while thinking.
14. Studying Japanese (or Korean when I feel like it)
15. Reading my books
16. Catering to my Subersibo network’s needs.
17. Hyde. Pretties. Lots of em.
18. The thrill of new web discoveries – sites, downloads, apps, whatnot.
19. Personal projects.
20. PROPER web development and design process. Valid code is love.
Looking at the list, I’m basically missing all the things that make me a happyworking bee. Oh no…
I must think – stable job = stable income. It’s all about the money now, yeah?

Well, iba rin kasi yung work life mo nun sa Eversun. I liked that environment actually. Oh well, not all companies can be fun.
