Another challenge in learning a new language is the Vocabulary, especially in Asian languages that’s just far, far different from Western languages like English or French. At least in the Filipino language, there are Spanish words that were adopted in Tagalog unlike between Japanese and English – worlds apart.
Let’s start with the basics shall we? Time for some brain cells connectivity.~

| polite equivalent of あのひと | あのかた | anokata |
| ladies and gentlemen, all of you | みんなさん | minnasan |

| teacher, instructor | きょうし | kyoushi |
| student | がくせい | gakusei |
| company employee | かいしゃいん | kaishain |
| medical doctor | いしゃ | isha |
| university | だいがく | daigaku |
| hospital | びょういん | byouin |
| Yes | はい | Hai |
| No | いいえ | Iie |
せんせい vs. きょうし
These two worlds both mean the same – teacher, but used differently. If you are a teacher, you do not refer to your job as せんせいbut as きょうし. Other people then refer to you as せんせい and not きょうし.
| I am a teacher | わたしは きょうしです。 |
| You are my teacher. | あなたは わたしの せんせいです。 |
